Heavy progressive rock!'' The Divine Baze Orchestra was formed by Oliver Eek (guitars, vocals) and Christian Eklof (drums, percussion) in late 2003. After a few years of intense giging around Sweden the line up was completed with the addition of Daniel Karlsson (organ, mellotron, vocals). Hailed by many as one of the foremost bands on the Swedish rock scene, they are often described as raw, spontaneous and experimental, yet also melodic, epic and warm. All members of the band have backgrounds within jazz, blues and classical, but are all deeply commited to playing rock music. Improvisation as well as well arranged elements combine into an amazing mix. In late 2007 they recorded their long awaited ten track debut album in Skara, Sweden. The album was recorded ''live'', in the meaning that all instrumental tracks were recorded at once together. Only vocals, mellotron and certain solos were overdubbed, thus giving the album the raw, dry sound. The band really wanted to capture the ''real'' sound and play as dynamically as possible. Often compared to giants like URIAH HEEP, KING CRIMSON and BUDGIE, but also acts like the MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA, MILES DAVIS and JAN JOHANSSON mentioned.
