Besides all traditional percussion instruments he also plays stringed instruments like Ud, Tanbur and Saz. Sometimes he sings with his expressive voice on top or recites medieval Turkish poetry. With his "Istanbul Oriental Ensemble" he won the "Deutschen Schallplattenpreis" In collaboration with Pete Namlook a new and very special combination of beatoriented deep ambient, electronic beats and the powerful music of the Ottoman empire developed and formed a new style and spirit back in 1996. Meanwhile this record has achieved "cult-status" and therefore we found it was necessary to reissue this masterpiece.
