Dionysos was led by Paul-Andr Thibert and put out three albums in the 1970s. The first two were released circa 1970 and are more psych, Le Grand Jeu and Le Prince Croule. The third came out around 1976 and is closer to mainstream rock with some progressive touches. There is a final solo album by Thibert called Musique de mes amis Dionysos which is more symphonic. Without rights to parts of the back catalog, the band put out this compilation in 1994, which is entirely re-recorded. The old stuff like the 12-minute ''Narcotique'' sounds excellent, and the band has not lost their edge from 25 years earlier. The mix is about 60%-40% in favor of the early period.
