Sweet Pain was fronted by Riordan and Phillips and the highlights of their very consistent album include the long Joy with its twin guitars, Richard And Me (the only cover, a Pistilli and West song from 1967) and The Lover. Their music was mainly comprised of free flowing West Coast rock with shared vocals and interesting guitar solos but also included a melancholic instrumental track with 12 string guitar.The same year, Phillips and Slay produced the first album by Sugarloaf. In 1974 Marty Foltz drummed behind Tim Weisberg and in 1979 Demme and Johnson formed the obscure Rock Rose who recorded one album on CBS.(Stephane Rebeschini) From Vernon Joynson?s Fuzz Acid And Flowers.
